Thank You!

The N5FDL Repeaters are on-the-air thanks to major technical and equipment assistance from Fred Coe, WB6ASU.

The Tracy controller is a gift from Kevin Quinn, K6KBQ.

Judi W6CJG and Bob K6VZT Greenwalt made a donation that purchased the Tracy duplexer.

There have been many other donations as well, all deeply appreciated.

Special thanks to my wife, Elionora, K6SWE for being barely tolerant of the time and money I have put into this project.

Thanks also to Tim Sivils, K6TRK, our 2-meter frequency coordinator, for his assistance.

On-the-Air: N5FDL/R Ripon

We have just installed a new low-level, low-power repeater on the tower at Ripon Fire Headuqarters downtown.

The antenna is a 5/8-wave at approximately 80 feet. Power out the duplexer is approximately 25 watts. Plans call for replacing the whip antenna with a 3-el beam, pointed basically north. The repeater is being replaced with a Motorola commercial model and power output may increase. The directional antenna is necessary to protect a repeater in Los Banos.

We may change the PL tone for this repeater, to avoid occasional interference (not our fault, but we can solve it) to a repeater system in El Dorado County that uses 147.225 as an input with 82.5 PL. They have eight receiver sites and if one receiver drifts, our output looks like an input to their system. Changing our PL (fewer users and their output is 147.825, after all) is an easy fix for this.

Output: 147.210 82.5 PL
Input: 147.810 82.5 PL

Future PL? 114.8
