Dear Reader:

This is my site and reflects my opinion. It is intended to offer ideas, examples and suggestions. It is not saying that I am right and you are wrong. This is a big world and EMCOMM is at least a little different in every locale. I am trying to discuss issues and uncover best practices. If you do things differently or have questions or comments, please share and help educate us all.

IMTC: Unsolicited Endorsement

Over the past few months, I have attended two week-long ICS training classes taught by teams from the Incident Management Training Consortium. IMTC is a California-based company that offers a variety of Incident Command System and other emergency management courses.

I have now taken the Division/Group Supervisor and Operations Section Chief course, with the Information Officer and Incident Commander courses coming in January and March, 2011.

The courses were excellent and the teams of instructors obviously great incident managers. I’d be pleased to work with/for any of them. The instructors who taught my courses had involvement is pretty much every recent “big incident” you can name as well as decades as field commanders at the kinds of incidents that occur every day.

If you are seeking ICS training for your organization, IMTC would be an excellent place to start. (Hint: Find someone with grant money to pay for it as these courses aren’t cheap).

Yes, I know ARES groups don’t have big budgets, but served agencies do.
